[Sounding irritated. And is so oblivious to the fact he's been gone for a while, but has noticed quite a few new posts. Even if Crane hasn't bothered to read them.]

It's amazing how much all of you can talk in one day. This is some kind of flood, I assume?

[Added later. Angry Crane is angry.]

Oh, good show, Admiral. I'll keep in mind that abrupt disappearances are now one of the many punishment options that you offer alongside floods, ports and zero. Bravo.

Are you in the infirmary? [That fear toxin was heavy stuff.]

I had to use that toxin for other purposes. It wasn't anything personal.

[Private - Eames]

We need to talk. [Added later.] Did you know that the Admiral was going to do that?

Are you still affected by the toxin? [WHAT IS THIS CRAZY RAMBLING.] You should go to the infirmary, Nygma. They might have something from last time to assist in removing the symptoms.

The symptoms wore off approximately sixteen days ago. If they were still in effect now, I would...not be speaking to you at all.

Would you mind answering my question? I'll accept confoundment if you have amnesia or are otherwise befuddled.

Sixteen days ago? That seems rather unlikely, to say the least. [You crazy Riddler, you.]

[BUT WAIT. These journal entries. They are dated! AND THE DATES! Sixteen days!]

...I'm not sure what you did Nygma, but it isn't funny. I hardly wanted to dose you with the fear toxin. I don't think that this is a very level headed way for you to respond. [Eddie hacked the system, says Crane logic.]

What exactly are you referring to? I don't recall having done anything to your room or belongings in your absence.

Absence? I've been in my room for about three or four hours. [Have a long pause.] ...He wouldn't have. [Have the sound of Crane storming out out into the corridor. Oh ho ho, looking for the signs that the Admiral has indeed done what Crane thinks he has.]

Jon, what--

[They're in the same hallway, so Eddie's going to poke his head out.]

Are you stomping?

[He's totally stomping. And whirls around to face Eddie.]

Sixteen days! [Have some shouting.] I have seriously been gone for sixteen days?

[Eddie raises his hands in that 'shh, it's okay' manner that everyone despises.]

Be thankful. During those sixteen days, we were possessed by Aztec Gods and made to work menial jobs. Those were roles better left unexperienced.

Stop that. [The hand thing isn't helping Crane's Admiral rage. Not a bit. He lifts up his journal and is rapidly flicking through posts again, not looking much calmer.]

Aztec Gods making you wash floors is hardly worse than experiencing nothing for the past two weeks. [He pauses, not really looking at the entries on his journal screen.] I don't remember any of it. Not where I was, not what happened to me.

They were separate experiences.

[Eddie slowly lowers his hands as requested.]

Your existence ceased for a short period of time for some inexplicable reason. There's probably nothing to remember.

[He clears his throat, reaching into his pocket.]

But I can give you updates that are relevant to you.

My existence ceased. [Crane repeats it flatly, looking away from his journal.] That more or less means that I've been dead for sixteen days.

[He spends a moment staring at Eddie, before changing the subject.] What relevant updates do you have?

Essentially. [This subject is awkward, so awkward, and Eddie is more than happy to drop it.]

Only one of any real of importance. You might be able to find the others scattered across the network.

[After bringing up this entry in transcript form, Edward passes him the communicator. It's not the most flattering of conversations, really, and he's fully prepared to deny that disappointed pause.]

Our friendship seems to be relevant to your warden. [He just admitted they were friends. Clearly SRS BIZ.]

[Crane takes the communicator silently, reading through the comments quickly as Eddie talks. This is indeed SRS BIZ. You can see it on Crane's face.]

Given the fear toxin situation, his curiosity isn't mislead or that surprising. [OH HEY. That's the sound of Crane not denying that they're friends. That whole fear toxin thing? Water under the bridge, Crane hopes.] It's still an awkward situation. Do you intend to do anything about it?

[Eddie shuffles his feet. He looks like someone who knows they're going to be found with their hand in the cookie jar, no matter how subtle they are.]

I've made precautions. But I need you to back them up by regarding me as a... [He ponders.] Interesting individual? In his presence.

[Eddie's shuffling reminds Crane that they're in an open place. He continues in a much quieter tone of voice.]

What do you mean by interesting? In terms of your company or other activities? [Crane wants to be clear.]

[This is going to get much more awkward in just a moment.]

Interest in my other activities. Or the way I function. Regard me with the same indifference you would a test subject.

[He shrugs with his hands.]

Just until he stops being interested.

[Crane's giving you a look, Eddie. The 'that suggestion is a bit ridiculous' eyebrow raising look.]

Well, given your colorful nature it would probably be plausible that I had a scientific interest in your activities. [Crane shrugs.] I'll tell him and try to convince him, but there's no guarantee that he'll buy it. Eames seems rather determined to get to the truth of the matter.

[It is, admittedly, and Eddie does his best impression of someone who doesn't care. Which isn't very convincing.]

Convincing him entirely is a bit far-fetched. This is just prolonging his search for answers. Eventually it should be overlapped by other more important events.

[He hopes so, anyway.]

[Crane sighs, but nods. He doesn't particularly want to get caught out lying to Eames again, but also doesn't want to completely leave Eddie to his own devices.]

All right, I'll make it happen. [Change of subject time!] So have you been up to anything in particular in the last two weeks?

Nothing out of the ordinary, by barge standards. Recently, I was given a new pet project. [He points a thumb at a door partway down the hall.] Roman Sionis. Also hails from Gotham.

Personal pet project or Admiral assigned? [Crane glanced at the door and then back to Eddie.] And more importantly, your Gotham or mine?

Admiral assigned. And mine. He's quite the handful. [Eddie softens his voice as he speaks.] So much so, that he's currently medicated.
