doctor_j_crane: Crane looking like he's arguing. (Let me explain)

[39] - [Voice/Video]

[Warden Filter]

I'm not sure which one of you is Arthas' warden, because I've never really cared that much before, but why is he not in zero? Constantly? Surely you could just keep him in there for a week, bring him up for an hour, and then put him in there for another week.

[Private - Eames]

Want to see something interesting? In the spirit of honesty and full disclosure? [Have a video of Arthas' note before it swaps back to voice.] I'm going to end up dead by the end of the week. [Said like it's a fact.]

[Private - Eddie]

You know that bit where you implied that this was under control? This is not under control.

[Added later - Private - Tirion]

Apparently you're Arthas' warden. You should contact my warden, Eames. I've got an issue with Arthas, to say the least.

[OOC: Crane is not amused by Arthas' note. And sorry for the Crane spam, guys. :c]

[Because he doesn't hate you, Crane.] You have been threatened by him. Could you tell me what is happening? Perhaps I can be of some assistance?

[Crane liked that book, Data. He feels like there's some common ground between you and him.] He almost killed me once. And he sent me this note, which I'm taking as a sign that I should be anticipating round two sometime soon.

If you feel that he will carry this out, you should stay with a friend or your warden until the situation is secured. Arthas will be likely to attempt revenge and avoiding him until the matter is dealt with in earnest is what I would advise.

I'll work something out with Eames. [Who has a gun, which is handy.] Do the wardens have any plan of action to deal with him? He just seems to do whatever he wants. I can't even remember how many people he's killed in the past.

There are weapons available that can stop him and the general plan is containment if he becomes physically hostile. Unfortunately... no, allow me to rephrase, happily I am not his warden though that puts me in the unfortunate position of being unable to dictate his punishment concerning verbal threats.

[Private]

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 10:12 am (UTC)(link)
What kind of weapons can stop him? Somehow I doubt that he could easily be tranquilized or anything like that. [On account of being a scary dead guy.]

I hope that his warden chooses to put him in zero. It's safer for everyone. [But particularly Crane.]

Tirion, Agent K, and Ray Stantz all possess weapons capable of inflicting great damage, and Mr. Stantz had a vessel capable of containing him.

I tend to agree with you. But until then a change in location would be advisable.

[Private]

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 10:17 am (UTC)(link)
A vessel? [Crane so wants to know about all of this.] Are these weapons some kind of 'magical' thing? [Crane hates that word. Hates it so much.]

I'm going to be with Eames. Staying on my own is nothing less than foolhardiness.

Re: [Private]

[personal profile] empirical_data 2011-01-02 10:20 am (UTC)(link)
Both Mr. Stantz and K had scientific explanations regarding to the function of their weapons, but they did work against what we perceive as "magic".

This is wise. I wish you luck.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 10:22 am (UTC)(link)
I'm glad that someone's making an attempt to rationalize these things, instead of simply accepting them. [Because magic is ridiculous.]

Yes. Thank you for the book, by the way.

I have always preferred formula to acceptance. Not that I have doubt those that can do "magic" do indeed have abilities, as it is very evident that they do, but I suspect that there is a translation of terms and physical laws that would make such actions more comprehensible.

You are welcome. I hope that you are finding relevance in it.

It's Tirion. Leave a message for him to contact me, won't you? I'll see what I can arrange.

[Private]
Thank you for telling me.

You're staying with me until further notice. You won't go anywhere isolated without informing me of such first, or going with someone. Both conditions are optional, but I suggest it for your own protection.

Done.

That sounds more than suitable. Frankly, I don't trust Arthas not to take me down in the middle of a corridor. While the note could be fake or a prank, I'm not taking the risk.

You shouldn't. I'll accompany you as much as I'm able and you're comfortable with. Trust that I can protect you if it's necessary.

I did notice the gun, Eames. [From the other night.] While I don't think it could kill Arthas, I'm confident that a few bullets could at least slow him down.

Do you want to see the note as well?

Mm. That's the least of my arsenal. [He exaggerates, but he's creative too.]

Have you got a camera?

Private

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 10:23 am (UTC)(link)
Somehow, that doesn't surprise me. [The efficiency of whoever searched Crane's room has made him a lot more suspicious about Eames and whoever he worked with.]

No, I don't. Only my journal.

Absolutely not. It would only provoke him further.

Take another video of the note, ten seconds long, and post it here. Then leave the note where you found it and come to my room as if you haven't seen it.

Private/Spam

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 10:45 am (UTC)(link)
That's actually a good plan. I'll be there momentarily.

[Crane breaks off the connection, and then you get a ten second shot of the note.]

[And then Crane's on his way to Eames' room as quickly as possible, having left the note as it was. He doesn't bother knocking and goes to open it, but hey, it's locked. So Crane knocks quickly, because he really, really doesn't want to be in the corridor right now.]

[Eames is quick to open the door, having expected Crane, but his free hand holds his gun at the ready on the other side of the door. As his inmate--and he does consider Crane his inmate, despite using the unofficial nature of their relationship against Crane at times--enters, he closes and locks the door immediately. Then he releases the hammer and presses the safety back on, taking his time in securing his gun and sliding it back into the holster, expecting Crane to begin speaking on some tangent.]

[Crane spent a moment staring because hey, there's a gun in Eames' hand. He relaxes slightly once the guns back in the holster and the door is closed and locked. The barge corridors can be fairly ominous at times, especially when you were having problems with the psychopathic undead.]

I put the note back. [Crane paused before continuing.] I honestly had expected Arthas to not ask for a replacement. I had tried to explain to him before that I couldn't make any more.

[Eames moved past Crane back to the table he had been working at the night before. He took a seat in the same chair, sifting through some files. This was turning out to be more complicated than he could have predicted, just as Crane was turning out to be more work. He always appreciated a challenge, however.]

"You can give him the fake vial that was left by whoever stole his." [The reply was curt, since the warden was still confident that that theft was related to whoever Crane had spoken to.] "How did you make them here?"

[He wasn't looking at Crane, though his mood wasn't unpleasant.]

=Spam~

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 11:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Crane spent a second thinking about the fake vial plan. Given how Arthas had responded to the first one, it was highly likely that he wouldn't be able to tell the difference.]

The fake vial will probably work, unless he decides he's still angry. I might leave it somewhere for him to collect so I don't have to physically interact with him. [Which would have ended horribly. Crane walked over to the same chair where he'd been in last time and sat down.] And unfortunately, I can't tell you how I made them here.

[He watched Eames carefully for his response.]

"You can. You choose not to. Perfectly acceptable, but maintains responsibility." [He replied with great nonchalance as he continued sifting through papers and occasionally jotting notes. There was a little more effort to conceal what he was working on this time, though Crane could catch a glimpse if he tried very hard. It was a list of names and dozens of notes surrounding them.]

"I haven't decided on whether I can trust you with the fake vial yet," [He continued, more pensive. Then he slid a blank paper over the things he was working on and set down his pen, looking up to Crane now.] "Who else did you tell about the vial being stolen, at the same time or before you told me?"

I got a note from Arthas. [Have a video of the note, Eddie.] I'm gathering that isn't how things were meant to end up?

Private

[identity profile] puzzleprince.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[Have an irate scoff.]

It was all under control. This new development is a fault of your warden's. It does force you to be dependent on him for protection, however, so there's a beneficial aspect. For him.

Give Arthas the fake. Problem temporarily solved.

Private

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Phhh, Crane is not impressed.]

Are you trying to say that this is some grand scheme on my warden's part? Because in all honesty, the only thing the last couple of days have proven is Arthas' immense ability to behave in unpredictable ways.

I might, but I want a vial of the real thing. I have a feeling that I'll need it.

Private

[identity profile] puzzleprince.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Even if you don't have the original."

"Do you see what happens when you talk to wardens?"

I gather from that note that Eames (or whoever else you've dragged into this, I can't be sure) has grounds to act on the toxin being a fake. Arthas doesn't posses the mental capacity to make a deduction on this matter, nor would he have noticed this early-- he has been on deck, amongst the snow all day, from what I've seen, which means,

A) You told one of the wardens involved, who told him.

B) Someone has another toxin to make comparisons with. Because that is the only way someone would have noticed the slight differences this early on without your assistance..

The only thing unpredictable about Arthas is how many highlights will be seen in his hair in a single day. What is unpredictable, is your warden friends' response to him, and to you, your mistakes. The only thing they've or he or she has manage to do so far is place Arthas back on your trail.

I am Arthas' warden, and I'll certainly contact him right away.

May I ask you what is your issue with Arthas?
