doctor_j_crane: Crane looking to the left, making a weird face. (Not awesome)

[42] - [Voice, so painfully public]

I would like to apologize- [He stops, because he sounds sarcastic. It's like a natural reflex. He continues on more normally.] I would sincerely like to apologize to Hayley Stark for dosing her with a highly unpleasant fear toxin last July, according to the calendar that the Admiral has inflicted on us. It was unwarranted in her case.

[Added later: Crane sounds exasperated.] And in the case of anyone else who was affected at the time.

[Added even later: Crane's getting used to it.] Including people who were directly killed as a result of it, otherwise indirectly impacted or generally traumatized by the experience. At the time I clearly needed to work out who was deserving of what.

I was not making judgement, I was making an observation. You have little to be concerned with, Mr. Eames, your inmate is behaving himself on the matter.

I trust him to do as much.

You have trained him well. [Inmates are like dogs, right?]

He's not a pet. He's a good man, much like Fischer.

He is a replacement for Fischer, then?

Different jobs entirely.

But the same face, forced along the path of new ideas. It strikes a similar chord.

We deceived Fischer. I'm not planting ideas in my inmate's mind. Similar ideas, perhaps, but entirely different methods.

I am still not entirely convinced this is not a dream. In which case, this is still planting ideas. A very similar method. Persuasion and convincing another to return to their reality a 'better man'.

You may not be convinced, but I am. The rules are too stringent.

I imagine you'll find that different here, where there's no regulated form of currency. Half the people here haven't even heard of pounds.

The pound is embarrassingly weak these days anyway. As is most things to do with Britain.

Is that a challenge, Mr. Saito?

That depends entirely upon what sort of challenge.

What would you recommend, to prove strength of character?

Not much fun in that.

Then what would you suggest?

A drinking contest, unless you have a better idea.

You are challenging a Japanese businessman to a drinking contest, Mr. Eames. [Lol, your funeral.]

My inmate can keep for an evening; I'll have Arthur keep an eye on him if needed. Can yours?

It's no less professional than any of the others here.

I'm sure mine could stay out of trouble for one night. I have homework for him at any rate.

This is not just a ruse to get me inebriated, I hope?
