doctor_j_crane: Crane looking to the right. (Concern)
I will be setting up an anonymous clinic on Friday afternoons, where full doctor-patient confidentiality will be in place. For inmates, this means that whatever you bring to me will not be reported to your warden.

[Warden Filter]

Consider this a social experiment. If it becomes too problematic, I won't continue.

[OOC: It sort of is Friday in some places, so if anyone wants to spam/assume, just put a comment in the post. c:]
doctor_j_crane: (Mask lol what)
Has someone confiscated the bow and arrows off that obviously unstable inmate yet? In the right hands, they can cause just as much damage as a gun.

Needless to say, personally I would not be interested in getting hit in the eye with an arrow in the near future.
doctor_j_crane: (Mask lol what)
I would like to inform you all that the large amount of mixing species in the port will probably lead to a wide variety of intergalactic diseases that one can acquire. Staying on the barge would likely be your best option. For those of you who simply cannot resist your more base urges, I'm sure that you'll have a great deal of exciting time in the infirmary later. At the very least, it should give them something new to study.
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking like he's arguing. (Let me explain)
[Crane sounds really, really angry. He's been on a deserted island for three days. It happens.]

When Eames told me that all of this was Rex, I didn't believe him. Because it's Rex. [Pause of rage.]

It doesn't matter if he's dead. So what? He'll have expected the death toll. He will have expected a week in zero. He doesn't care about what any of you think. There's no way to punish him that wardens have ever traditionally used.

So do you know what I recommend, in my professional opinion? The only thing Rex does actually seem to care about. His snakes. I'm not sure where they are at the moment, but I think we should find them. They're probably just in his room. I also think that he needs to appreciate just how much damage he's done to the people of the barge. [Specifically, Crane's people.] I suggest that we dispose of them, since he obviously doesn't deserve the privilege of having pets. I also suggest that he be given the remains so he can fully appreciate the consequences of his actions.

[Pause.] I'm aware that some of you are squeamish. I wouldn't mind doing it myself, personally and giving it to him. In pieces. Because there's nothing like the bloodied remains of your beloved pets to remind you that some things just aren't a good idea.

[Added later:]

The snakes are in Harper's room, apparently. It makes me wonder if he has a wardenly duty to hand them over to the general barge public.

[Ooc: This is not seriously going to happen, Crane is a crazy loon. Rex's snakes are adorable.]
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Not quite/ugh)
As much as people here like to say that we don't age, some measure of time must pass here. The plants in the garden still grow and the passing of time seems to affect animals.

[Have a shot of spider babies, people. Crane's spiders made glorious offspring. I'll spare you guys a picture, but just imagine tiny spiders amongst the adult ones in the tank. The tiny spiders are moving around pretty quickly.]

They might start to consume each other at any moment. You can imagine the primal fear going through the newborns. Even at the earliest stages of life, they acknowledge the mortal peril that the large spiders could inflict on them at any moment. Consumption, for no better reason than a whim considering the food that the tank provides for them.

[Crane pauses, leaving the video shot on the tank. One of the big spiders is moving towards some of the younger ones.] Just think, this must be what we look like to the Admiral.

[Private - Eddie (added later)]

Riddle solved. Kay, Narvin, Cooper and Washington. [Kay told him so.]
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking to the left, making a weird face. (Not awesome)
I would like to apologize- [He stops, because he sounds sarcastic. It's like a natural reflex. He continues on more normally.] I would sincerely like to apologize to Hayley Stark for dosing her with a highly unpleasant fear toxin last July, according to the calendar that the Admiral has inflicted on us. It was unwarranted in her case.

[Added later: Crane sounds exasperated.] And in the case of anyone else who was affected at the time.

[Added even later: Crane's getting used to it.] Including people who were directly killed as a result of it, otherwise indirectly impacted or generally traumatized by the experience. At the time I clearly needed to work out who was deserving of what.
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Sure/Conern)
[Crane's sitting at his desk, playing with one of his pet spiders. He's letting it run from one hand to the other. It's a pretty big spider.]

It appears the Admiral has been sufficiently amused. Enough to give us all our furniture back with all the trimmings, in any case. We probably weren't on track for our weekly flood, so he decided to make one for us. [Crane looks unamused. He didn't like the power being out.] It makes one wonder if all the effort that some lab staff put into researching such things is a complete waste of time.

[Inmate Filter + Edward Nygma (honorary inmate)]

Given my own current interim warden situation, I've become rather curious about a certain issue. If you could have any warden on board as your personal warden, who would you prefer? It seems difficult to weigh up the different benefits of the clever and the stupid, and of course whether it's better to have a warden with far too many powers or with none.

[OOC: Sorry for not adding this earlier, guys. The spider that Crane's playing with, based on the log where it first appeared, is a Huntsman Spider (from a log played by Australians? No wai!). The other two in the tank have never had their species stated, but one is smaller than the one Crane's playing with. :D]
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (More shrink talk)
I have a specimen that I think has lived in a bucket for a little too long. I would like a proper enclosure for it. Admiral, it can be plastic if you don't think I can be trusted with glass. [Crane sounds thoroughly unimpressed by this. He's referring to a non poisonous huntsman spider, that appeared in a Rom Com cupboard with Eddie and himself.]

[Crane pauses before continuing.] I'm rather surprised that the murder in the garden was handled so well. Was it because the culprit was reasonably obvious or due to actual police work?

[Private - Rose]

The garden is less quiet than I would have expected. I trust that you weren't affected by the recent events?

[Private - Hayley]

I want to show you some instructions. I need to know if you're capable of performing them.
