doctor_j_crane: Crane looking to the right. (Concern)
I will be setting up an anonymous clinic on Friday afternoons, where full doctor-patient confidentiality will be in place. For inmates, this means that whatever you bring to me will not be reported to your warden.

[Warden Filter]

Consider this a social experiment. If it becomes too problematic, I won't continue.

[OOC: It sort of is Friday in some places, so if anyone wants to spam/assume, just put a comment in the post. c:]
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking to the right. (Concern)
As you're in charge of the Narcotics Anonymous program, I thought that I should make it clear that I'm willing to organize methadone programs and similar withdrawal treatments for any inmates or wardens that require them. I'm of the opinion that patients having more control over the process normally leads to more positive results.
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking to the right. (Concern)
[Private to Kay, Narvin and Dracula]

Given that the prototype for the tranquilizer is going so well, it's probably time that we tried it out. We'll need a delivery system and something or someone to test it on. Voluntarily, of course. I also think the CES might also offer a controlled, yet variable environment to do testing in.

[Private to Infirmary Staff]

Who is in charge in the infirmary at the moment and which one of you is Simon Tam?

[Public]

How many of you know basic first aid? I assume that most of you know next to nothing, but I'd quite like to be proven wrong.
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking to the right. (Concern)
I've graduated. I'll be leaving the barge today. [Crane pauses, because that was all he was planning on saying. But now, rambling time.]

I've been on the barge for quite a while. As anyone who knows me will agree, if I can graduate it's entirely possible that anyone can. I suppose I ought to thank those of you who've made a difference to me, which is the vast minority. Thank you for your assistance.

I can safely say that come hell or high water, I won't be returning to the barge as a warden.

[Private - Kay]

Thank you, again.

[Private - Narvin and Dracula]

I apologize that I'm leaving the two of you in the middle of the tranquilizer project.

[Private - The Marquis]

I'm sorry to leave you before we could have a thorough talk about what you're going through.

[Private - Eddie]

Should we meet before I go?

[OOC: Don't be defriending, Crane will be back in a week real time as a canon updated warden! c:]
doctor_j_crane: Crane walking. (Walking like a boss)
Do I have your permission to work in the infirmary? They're short staffed.

[And another private to the Marquis]

Did you survive the port?
doctor_j_crane: Crane walking. (Walking like a boss)
[Private - Eddie Nygma]

I take it that you're adjusting to the life of an inmate?

[Private - Kay]

We need to talk. [For a friendly drink. Ah, a lack of social skills.]

[Private - Narvin, Dracula and extra Kay]

I apologize for how long this has taken. The flood and my encounter with Ladd put me somewhat behind on my own schedule. I've outlined a work plan.

[Insert work plan here. It's well organized, but not really catering for the people under taking it to have much of a social life at all. Free time, what is that.]

I'll be happy to make any adjustments necessary.
doctor_j_crane: Crane walking. (Walking like a boss)
I'd like to speak to you both about the vampire tranquilizer project.

Narvin, I'd like to discuss the use of lab resources and a potential schedule for the project.

Dracula, I've got a number of questions about the vampires on the barge. Furthermore, I am also very aware that for many of them this project may be highly sensitive. I think we need to discuss at what time it would be appropriate to inform them of what's occurring.
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Sigh forever)
[Crane sounds somewhat breathless.] Do we still have the capacity to bring people back from the dead? Or are we facing something more permanent? And are there any signs that bites from the faceless creatures cause ill effects?

[Pause.] And after people are finished considering that, I'm pinned down by these things on the second floor, if anyone is willing or able to help.

[Private - Eddie]

Are you still alive? Is your room locked? I like to imagine that you've got a secret cache of weapons, as unlikely as that is. But at the very least, I'm going to need that knife. If only to treat this bite.

[Private - Perry]

Considering how often we talk about alliances, this is a good opportunity to actually act on it.
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Okay)
Graduation seems to be a relative thing. I fail to understand how the Admiral prevents the somewhat inevitable relapse that would occur when an inmate returned to their place of origin. I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that I would continue doing exactly what I'd been doing before. I wouldn't even really term it a 'relapse', since it's only a relapse by the Admiral's standards. A return to a scientific pursuit would be a more accurate term.

[Pause.] These floods are getting more and more ridiculous. The only cold comfort that goes along with this type of floods is that people rarely seem to care or remember what's revealed during them.

[Private - Edward Nygma]

We need to talk about those transcripts.

[Private - Eames]

I feel like I should be getting together a list of people who have threatened to kill me.
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Sure/Conern)
For those of you who are obviously behind on barge etiquette, I would recommend pretending that the flood never happened. Never underestimate the power of repression. After all, no one likes to be reminded of that time that they spent a whole day acting ridiculously, even if it is preserved on the journals for prosperity.

[Added later.]

Has anyone spoken to Hayley Stark lately?

[Private - Eames]

Hypothetically, if I were to give you a rather important piece of information, what are the chances of you not running to the rest of the wardens with it?

[Private - Edward Nygma]

We need to talk now. There's been a development with the fear toxin. It's not for the better.

[Private - Hayley]

I need to talk to you. There's a developing situation that you need to be aware of.
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (I See)
[Crane is sitting at his desk, and is looking at a rather large spider that is currently walking up his arm.] It's fantastic to know that there's such a wonderful system for dealing with emergencies on the barge. I was under the impression that when someone demonstrated uncontrollable powers people might be inclined to follow a procedure to contain them, rather then standing around and brainstorming.

[Have a moment of quiet seething, while Crane takes the spider off his shoulder and lets it start crawling around on the table.]

This flood is also ridiculous. I fail to understand how having leaves falling on the deck is designed to make us 'better' people. If anything, it would just encourage anyone with a lighter to make a bonfire. Books from the library would make good fuel, wouldn't they? [Nope, totally not encouraging other inmates to do bad things. Definitely not.]

[Inmate filter]

If anyone does decide to do that, at the very least stick to some useless romantic fiction books.

[Private - Eddie]

[Oh look, Crane put his spider back in the tank while he's talking to Eddie.] I'm assuming that you're either dead or have had your powers contained. If you are hypothetically alive, can I have the key to your room? I need to use your equipment.

[Added later - Private - Ms Rose]

Would you be able to take Nygma some of his books to zero? My warden is unlikely to take me down there. Apparently Nygma's fine, but bored. He also requested painkillers.

[OCC: Crane is flood affected, and for the new people the spiders are his pets. They come from the broom cupboard. It's a beautiful story.]
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Shrink Talk)
One never realizes how pleasant the room system is until one is forced into close proximity with others. Still, I suppose the infirmary does what it can given that they're far from a trained medical team. It's almost adequate, especially given the bizarre medical situations that they're faced with. It's a pity that qualified inmates aren't allowed to take any significant role. [Subtle hinting there Crane.]

[Private - Ms Rose]

I'll need the key to my room back. I trust that everything went well?

[Private - Edward Nygma]

I need to talk to you about using your equipment. It's for something slightly different than in the past. I also need to pick up my sample of the fear toxin.

[Private - Piper]

[Pause at the start before Crane starts talking.] I haven't told anyone about the situation with your son. I don't intend to do so. It's too much leverage for any other inmates.
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Default)
It has come to my attention that with our recent influx of visitors to the town, that the threat Drink may once again be making its way through our ranks. [Crane sighs. This is so very frustrating.] I feel that as the doctor of this fine town, it is my duty to remind you not only of your role as civilized, law abiding people, but also of the consequences of such vagrancy. I must remind you not of the virtues of Temperance, but the horrors of Drink. [You can hear him capitalizing the words.]

As our friend Benjamin Rush emphasized so long ago, the impact of Drink cannot be underestimated on the body nor on the mind. If you were to have even one sip, people of the town, rest assured that you would find yourself hopelessly dependant on the substance. Your whole body craving it, you will lose your employment, your home, your family and finally your life. If you think that Drink is worth such a cost, please, I invite you to partake in it.

[He glowers at the camera for a few seconds.]

I also advise that no one visits the show. It is a disrespectful place and dangerous. I will be attending myself in order to make scientific observations, but I encourage all others to avoid it if possible. They will take your hard earned money, as well as poison your body and steal your life.

If you need to send me a message while doing so, do use the journal system. For other concerns, do ask my wife, Piper. Doubtless she will be willing to advise you on any concerns of virtue that you may have. [There's a slight edge in Crane's voice, and he turns off the journal.]
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Distance)
My new warden is a detective. The irony is not lost on me, Admiral. [Sigh.] It does make one wonder. Does anyone actually like their warden?

[Private - Hayley]

Is your warden likely to search your room?

[Private - Rose (Wicker Man)]

I need a favor. It's nothing serious, just minding a few of my things.

[Private - Riddler]

I need to talk to you regarding my sample of the fear toxin. [Assuming Crane has it after he made it, but he wants to give it to Eddie for safekeeping.]

[Private - Irene]

I need to know what you took when you went into my room. It's nothing personal, I'm just keeping track of things.

[Closet - Eighth Floor.]

[Mysteriously has some plants appear on the very top shelf, pushed far back and hidden behind an old box. Also a bucket of potting soil placed on the very bottom shelf on the opposite side.]

OOC: what's going on here. )
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (More shrink talk)
I have a specimen that I think has lived in a bucket for a little too long. I would like a proper enclosure for it. Admiral, it can be plastic if you don't think I can be trusted with glass. [Crane sounds thoroughly unimpressed by this. He's referring to a non poisonous huntsman spider, that appeared in a Rom Com cupboard with Eddie and himself.]

[Crane pauses before continuing.] I'm rather surprised that the murder in the garden was handled so well. Was it because the culprit was reasonably obvious or due to actual police work?

[Private - Rose]

The garden is less quiet than I would have expected. I trust that you weren't affected by the recent events?

[Private - Hayley]

I want to show you some instructions. I need to know if you're capable of performing them.
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Serious business)
It was just a little truth flood, not the end of the world. That would be something to talk about, but instead we're stuck with the Admiral's little games. [Oh ho ho, nice secret code there Crane.]

Even so, I think that it turned out quite better than expected. Sometimes, honesty can be so refreshing. There's some of you that I'm quite upset that I missed out on talking to.

[Inmate filtered so hard.]

I'd give my kingdom for something sharp. Or I'd at least share some gardening tips. It's amazing what some plants go do. Heal the sick, ease the mind. Create a quite mysterious death. [Crane will totally trade you a poison/plant recipes for something pointy.]

Edit: [Private - to Sylar]

Do you powers include control over metal?
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Finger hmm)
[Crane’s holding the device up, and you can see from the wall behind him that he’s in zero.]

I don’t see why you’re all taking this so personally. It isn’t that different from one of your little floods, is it? And it’s not like the lot of you didn’t have it coming.

[Crane shrugs, as if to say ‘my bad’.]

Have fun with the cleanup. I’m sure there will be lots of exciting things to find around the barge.

[Crane gives the camera a bit of a grin, then moves the device away to turn it off. You can still see for a second that he doesn't look as cheerful as his tone would indicate.]

[Whoops, Crane’s in zero (brought down by Sam Tyler) and still a little bit high from the fear gas. He’s decided that he doesn’t really care if other people know he caused it because he reckons the information will get around anyway. He also doesn’t know that Ms Rose is alive yet either. I’m also open for a spam with any wardens coming down to visit him or other cool cats in zero. And this post is dated to around Sunday evening.]
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Default)
Well that was interesting. I'd like to suggest a new response to floods of this nature (if you'll excuse the pun). Now that the flood has finished, I suggest we never speak of this again.

Except, of course, for those who showed a very poor level of behaviour. You know who you are.
Private: to Dr Facilier, the Riddler and the Joker. )
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (I See)
A flood? What on earth is that supposed to be? There isn't water anywhere, even if this place was so poorly architecturally designed that it didn't have a sufficient drainage system.

If this is some kind code for a change of medication, I'm going to find the Admiral and show him exactly what it's like to be... [crossed out words are illegible]

...Dr. Facilier, I've also been considering your strange shadow creature. I want to know how it works. You must have been quite inventive to create a being of such lifelike proportions. It's genius, in its way.

[Private to Max]

A Doctor was looking for volunteers in the infirmary. Since menial labor is apparently a meaningful occupation, can I have permission to volunteer? Considering my past medical experience, I think I'd be more then competant in an emergency.
doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Default)
I don't even need to ask what that was. Changing the 'barge' drugs in the air to some kind of 'cruise' drugs? Amnesia as a side effect isn't even surprising.

To the people I was socialising with on the roof, I assure you, we weren't partaking in anything fatal. Just some recreational materials that I happened to have. No harm done.

To everyone else who I encountered, I am not an accountant. I am a certified psychiatrist, and no, I don't have any 'side businesses.'

OOC: Crane would rather admit to dealing drugs then stealing stuff from the garden and risking exposing the fact he's trying to make a chemical concoction. I may also be slow in responses because I'm pretty sick, but I thought I should get the post up instead of backdating it later. :3
