This is the worst thing. [Crane sounds young. And crackly. And sulky.] Why don't I get to be old? It's much better than being like this. I don't even know if my higher brain... [Pause. For a long second.] workings are working. I'm not leaving my room until it's over.

Also all the old people should stay away from all the not old people. They might have diseases. But I would still rather be with the old people.

The Admiral should have made us old. I hate this. [Crane's assuming that Capa's the same age as him. Because of the animal flood.]

Okay, that's fine. Are you guys making someone in charge for the wardens?

Nobody was ever "in charge" of the wardens. No one is supposed to be because we all come from different worlds and represent different rule sets, as to the inmates that we are charged to both redeem and serve as advocates for. We should be focussed on those inmates.

That said, I for one am going to deal with anything that I see happening that looks suspicious that I see happening with my peers before it gets out of control, and talk to the people involved and make sure there's some sort of accountability.

If there was a head warden, the Marquis would have done more to Iago. Because you would all have someone in charge to make you do things right.

[Pause.] The Admiral doesn't count as being in charge.

No, the Admiral just throws candy at us like a crazy man in a big turkey shaped parade float and moons us as it drifts on by.

But we are all accountable for our own actions, and even if it's not by a an active majority action a warden that behaves inappropriately loses credibility and the ability to interact usefully with their peers. They will also frequently lose their inmates due to their behavior, making fulfilling a deal nearly impossible.

You wouldn't say that to me if it wasn't for this flood.

[Pause. Hear the sound of thinking.] I was going to talk about this like that after the flood.

Oh no, I woulda said that even if it wasn't the flood. I don't know if he's alien, human, a muppet, or a frayed artificial intelligence, but I know there is something unstable happening there.
