Dr Jonathan Crane. [A pause.] I would be particularly interested in individuals that used to be on the barge, if any of you are out there.

Yes, he is. The Joker is as well.

Then I hardly need to explain what mutual interests we share.

Quite. The Batman is more or less responsible for my current predicament on the barge. What did he do to you?

I have known the Batman in both a professional and personal capacity. He has cast his shadow over the entirety of my life, and I won't rest until he lies dead at my feet.

Personal? Please, don't tell me you think he's Bruce Wayne. That was his disguise on the barge.

Was it now... how very curious. How were you able to deduce this?

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-11-13 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
He was pretending to be Bruce Wayne for an extended period of time. It was rather ridiculous. As if anyone would seriously believe that Bruce Wayne could be the Batman.

Ridiculous.... yes, I imagine it was at that. Was he the Batman you are familiar with, or a different one?

It's hard to tell. He certainly had similarities to the Batman I knew.

It's a pity my work here in Gotham must take priority. It would be an interesting experience to visit this... 'Barge' of yours.

Well, if you came voluntarily you'd be here as a warden. Which is a far superior experience to being an inmate.

[identity profile] hub-of-hush.livejournal.com 2011-11-13 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
A warden? Hm. I'm not entirely certain my career lends itself to such a role... perhaps my experience in neurosurgery will impress this 'Admiral', or perhaps I can simply send some costumed cretin or another aboard to act as my agent. I imagine Lock-Up could transition quite seamlessly into such a position.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-11-15 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
Well, considering the rather low bar for doctors here I'm sure that would be enough to qualify you as a warden.

I'm not entirely sure what this Lock-Up is. Some form of organization, I take it?

Ah, but that just gives you free reign to do as you wish, does it not?

Not hardly, my dear Doctor. He's just another one of the badly-dressed halfwits that have overrun Gotham like a circus act in my world. I take it from your confusion that they have not yet begun to infest the Gotham you call home.

I wouldn't know.

No, they haven't. We've only a handful.

What an interesting contrast. This reticence doesn't become you.

Perhaps that's for the best. True maniacs like Two-Face and the Joker are an acquired taste.

I met Two-Face on the barge for a brief time. He seemed relatively sane at that point.

That's the trouble with Harvey. He can seem sane enough. But never turn your back on him.

What happens when you do that?

He lives up to his nom de guerre.

That he does.
