[7] - Belated Flood Reaction [Video, Public]

[Crane is in his room, and visible next to him is a stack of books, with titles pointedly turned away from the camera.]

Well, I’m not really sure what to say.

[Beat, in which Crane looks pensive. But only for a second.]

No, actually, I know exactly what I want to say.

To the “Riddler”, you are without a doubt the worst warden on the entire barge. It’s wonderful that you’re willing to convince someone who’s clearly flood affected to try and jump off the deck. Next you thing you know, you’ll probably just be killing inmates on your own steam. That’s more effective, isn’t it?

Adric, it’s just chess. You clearly have some kind of obsessive personality to make it into some huge issue. Move on.

Libby, no one on the barge cares about your relationship and apparently sexual dysfunction. That is not something that anyone needs to hear.

To the other denizens of the barge, especially all the new ones, welcome to your life. Prepare for floods of varying varieties that tell you exactly what you didn’t want to know about your fellow inmates and wardens. If you’ve got a problem with it, I’d suggest taking it to the Admiral, but we don’t exactly see a lot of him.

[Private to Jack Tyler]

Thanks. [Crane looks as if saying that is causing him physical pain.]

[Private to Ms. Rose]

I am sorry about not talking to you earlier. I’ve been… indisposed. Thank you though, for being one of the few people in the flood to keep a level head about you.

[Private to Max]

I’m just getting some things off my chest. That’s not going to be a problem, is it?

OCC: PHPHPH I haven’t done my final exam, and I know I say this every time I post, but I am actually slow timing. Really. I just wanted to make sure this was up well before port. Also, sorry for the long post. >___>

Well, I don't doubt that. You were very persistent though.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I was only reacting to how agressive you were.

[identity profile] alzarian-youth.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
And you were really creepy and talked about a voice in your head. If I've got issues, I'm not the only one.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Crane actually stops to think about this for a second.]

That's interesting. You'll understand, my flood recollection is a bit hazy. I must have been very, very drunk.

[identity profile] alzarian-youth.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe you should read through your own journal entries and analyze yourself!

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, that isn't the interesting part. The interesting part is analyzing your response. Are you an inmate or a warden?

[identity profile] alzarian-youth.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Warden. Actually, I'd think analyzing some of the things you said would be very interesting. Especially the part about the mask.

Behold, Crane's rapid attempt to change the subject.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
No, that's not interesting at all. I'd much rather talk about you. Don't you think it makes you a bit lacking as a warden, if you so easily find things 'creepy'?

[identity profile] alzarian-youth.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Only if I was your warden, and I'm not.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, so I'm not allowed to be concerned for the general welfare of the barge? That's upsetting. Do you have an inmate at the moment?

[identity profile] alzarian-youth.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
No, but I just meant other inmates aren't creepy, so it's not a problem if I don't have to deal with you.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Other inmates aren't 'creepy'? Are you joking? I could name three at the tip of a hat.

[identity profile] alzarian-youth.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, okay, the vampires kind of are, and there are some others, but I won't be creeped out by my inmate.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Not even if you got, say, Alastair?

[identity profile] alzarian-youth.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Doesn't he already have a Warden? Anyway, it doesn't matter. Dealing with any inmate is better than going back to being dead.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Everyone around here is obsessed with death. It's a bit morbid, really.

[identity profile] alzarian-youth.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably has something to do with the fact that most of the people here have died.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
So many people here say that, and none of them realise how ridiculous it sounds.

[identity profile] alzarian-youth.livejournal.com 2010-06-17 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
How does that sound ridiculous? This is an afterlife.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-17 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Suffice to say, I disagree. You won't agree with me, but actually, we're all in an asylum. A crazy house.

[identity profile] alzarian-youth.livejournal.com 2010-06-17 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
It hardly surprises me that that was where you were when you died. And I doubt it was as a doctor.

ZING :D

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-17 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not the one who thinks he's an alien. And trust me, just because you're in denial about this being an asylum, it doesn't mean that it isn't.

[identity profile] alzarian-youth.livejournal.com 2010-06-17 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
And just because you're in denial about your death doesn't mean you aren't dead. 'Bye, Dr. Crane, I've got better things to do.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2010-06-17 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
If you insist.
