Since everyone seems to be posting on their feelings lately, I might share some of mine. Firstly, if you're thinking about posting anecdotes about your life, don't bother. No one cares. Your warden already knows whatever you're going to say from your file, so they don't care either. You're wasting everyone's time.

Secondly, no one cares about what you think you know about space, the barge, religion or our place in the world. Thirdly, introducing yourself is pointless. We're all going to be stuck here for months on end, and we'll all inevitable be thrown together in some kind of ridiculously flood. So I'd recommend doing us all a favor and refrain from inflicting your company on the rest of us.

[Pause. Crane's done with his rant.] And Eames left, in case any of you were wondering. He clearly worked out that you'd have to be insane to stay here willingly.

[Private - Arthur]

I need to talk to you. You can probably guess what about.

[Filtered to the infirmary staff]

I either want some Zoloft or Prozac. Now.

[Private - The Admiral]

I just want to know one thing. I just want an answer to one question.

[OCC: So, Crane's in a bit of a terrible mood and lashing out at the barge. It's up to your discretion mods, whether the Admiral replies. c:]

Obviously. I can think of a dozen off the top of my head.

[Crane realizes it was a joke, but takes it seriously anyway. He doesn't believe what Eddie says his motives are, but doesn't press the issue.]

My next warden is going to be my fifth. There's something inherently depressing about that.

Beatty is my fifth inmate. People come and go.

Did Eames mention why he left?

[Not that Eddie's unhappy about it. He didn't like Eames.]

He did. [Crane said shortly. He pauses before continuing.] I don't want to particularly talk about the details.

[Eddie doesn't want to either, to be honest, but...]

Wouldn't it make you feel better?

No. I'm not even particularly at angry at Eames. I had too many expectations.

[Crane sounds particularly bitter about said expectations.]

Expectations are a dangerous thing to have, but you should have them. It's your wardens job to help you, and by leaving they're failing in that.

[This almost comes out as bitter, because he really doesn't like Eames:] But it doesn't mean they didn't care or there weren't extenuating circumstances that forced their hand. As shortsighted as Eames was, I could see that he wanted to help you.

He didn't fail. [Crane snaps, giving Eddie a cold look.] He's not responsible for my actions.

[Crane does listen to the rest of Eddie's explanation though, and he agrees with it.] You are right, though. Although the fact still remains that I don't want another warden. I don't need one.

Eames didn't complete the assigned task, he failed, and it was a failure solely on his part. Keeping in mind that failure stands for a lack of success and isn't necessarily a derogatory term.

[He shifts a little closer to the desk, reaching for the matches.]

You're going to get one regardless. Eames was rather quite, as far as wardens go. A new one might be the best thing for you.

The word has derogatory connotations. Call it non-completion.

[That sounded better to Crane. Safer, more sanitized.]

I don't think so. [Crane laughs, bitterly.] Who says that this one is going to be any different to the other four?

Maybe I intended them to be there.

[He doesn't try to press the issue. It's not a good time.]

Never mind that, it's not important.

Give your future warden the benefit of the doubt, at least.

[Crane sighs, and moves closer to the chemistry equipment, looking at the different pieces. Considering their uses.]

You're not exactly encouraging me to do that, are you?

[He lit a match, using it to start the Bunsen burner.]

I'm being realistic with how I lay it out.

You're jumping the gun. [Crane says, looking at the Bunsen burner, but he doesn't stop Eddie.]

You're a terrible warden. [Crane said after a moment.] If you want something from me, now is a good time to specify.

[He wasn't interested in deals. He just needed something to focus on. Something to do.]

[Eddie didn't seem fazed.] I'm a great warden, if it's within my interest to warden you.

Which it isn't-- I don't warden friends.

[He threw the used match aside and leaned back in his chair to watch Crane start his work.]

[That actually manages to get a genuinely amused expression out of Crane.]

Of course you don't. You're so unhelpful.

[It wasn't said with any particular malice, as Crane started doing his science.]

[Eddie smiles, mock-shrugging and spreading out his hands.]

Aren't I just.

[Crane looks up from what he's doing and shakes his head.]

If I was better at decision making, I would have gone to the lab with Capa earlier.

You wouldn't have made a network entry if you were better at decision making.

[Now that Crane's settled in, Eddie stands out of his chair.]

Coffee?

It was cathartic, if nothing else. [Crane doesn't sound overly positive about it though, as he continues with his work.]

Or something stronger. [He says, without looking up.]

[Stronger than coffee?

He could add a relaxant to some tea instead.]

I'll see what I have in storage.

[Time to whip up something that'll have Jon floating the rest of the afternoon away!

Aaaaand he returns with his floaty miracle after fifteen minutes, sliding it onto the table before Jon.]

Here you are.

[Crane looks at it. He'd been implying alcohol, and doesn't have any reason to think otherwise about it.]

Thank you. [Time to start on the drink. And time to continue science. Occupational health and safety, what is that?]

Hayley left too, as you've probably heard. Capa thinks that it's going to be for good this time.

Welcome.

[Eddie sits back down in his chair. There's no such thing as health and safety in his cabin, it's the cabin of rock ~~and bad choices~~.]

Personally, I thought she was a bad influence on you.

[But he had a pretty limited view on her and Jon's interaction. The foremost thing in his mind was the torture she had subjected him to, and...that was basically it.]

Didn't she use psychological torture on you? Even nanomites can't teach someone how to do that successfully overnight.

[Crane sighs, taking another sip of his drink.]

I'm hardly in a position to start getting on a high horse about people using psychological torture, especially when their judgment is impaired. The blame for all of that falls with Rex.

[Crane sounds well and truly bitter by the end of that.] The Admiral had no right to take her away for good.

[Eddie shrugs.]

We don't know why she's gone. It may have been that there was somewhere better for her.

I doubt that the Admiral would just send her home.

[Crane took another sip from his drink.] If I went, what would you assume had happened to me?
