I don't even need to ask what that was. Changing the 'barge' drugs in the air to some kind of 'cruise' drugs? Amnesia as a side effect isn't even surprising.

To the people I was socialising with on the roof, I assure you, we weren't partaking in anything fatal. Just some recreational materials that I happened to have. No harm done.

To everyone else who I encountered, I am not an accountant. I am a certified psychiatrist, and no, I don't have any 'side businesses.'

I'm afraid I'm unclear what kind of sentencing provisions they have here. So, if you genuinely reform, they just let you go?

That's what I've figured, yup. That's what the fucking warden says, and people seem to have pissed off when they've 'graduated' or whatever the fuck.

So that leaves us with two options. Either they're telling the truth and we honestly get to leave, or they really take us somewhere else.

No, fuck off. You don't. All you psychologist folks think you know what it's fucking like, think you can talk to prisoners and watch them and analyse the fuck out of us. But you don't have a fucking clue what prison fucking means until you've been there. You fucking can't and never fucking will.

Psychiatrist, not psychologist. Your rehabilitation will go particularly well if you can't even have a casual conversation with one. Did you have a bad experience in the past, perhaps?

This ain't nothing to do with your profession. It's to do with the fucking fact that you can't really, properly talk or understand something you haven't gone and fucking done yourself.

You can and do. The majority of the information the modern human mind processes is not due to direct stimulus, but through materials that inform you of it indirectly. I can have a complete understanding of prison without ever having been there.

But you won't know what it's like to be a fucking prisoner. And that's what I'm fucking talking about.

I happen to know a great deal about the experience of prisoners. I've written several papers.

Your papers count for shit all. You've never had your freedom taken away from you for seven-fucking-years.

I understand the psychology behind it, which is sufficient, even if I won't be able to convince you that it is. Suffice to say, you are now probably filled with rage and bitterness against the system and life in general.
