[Crane sounds somewhat breathless.] Do we still have the capacity to bring people back from the dead? Or are we facing something more permanent? And are there any signs that bites from the faceless creatures cause ill effects?

[Pause.] And after people are finished considering that, I'm pinned down by these things on the second floor, if anyone is willing or able to help.

[Private - Eddie]

Are you still alive? Is your room locked? I like to imagine that you've got a secret cache of weapons, as unlikely as that is. But at the very least, I'm going to need that knife. If only to treat this bite.

[Private - Perry]

Considering how often we talk about alliances, this is a good opportunity to actually act on it.

His own lack of medical qualifications and my numerous issues with the other doctors.

[Crane finished packing in the material and started taping it up, awkwardly pausing every few seconds to rip the tape. He really wanted a pair of scissors right about now.]

I don't actually mind the medical staff most of the time, though. They're just easy to bait.

I died on an operating table. [He was basically just talking to keep his mind on something else while Crane finished patching up the bite.] Big surprise, I'm not a huge fan of doctors.

I can see how that would have been traumatic. [Crane said mildly, continuing to tape the padding in place.] What were they attempting to treat?

[Perry gives a grim snort of something that's not quite laughter. There's absolutely no humour in it. He's not going to actually tell Crane the whole story, so instead, he just replies shortly:] Infection.

With surgery? [Crane sounds somewhat skeptical, but he doesn't ask any further questions. He's just about done all he can on Perry's back, so he steps away.] I could stitch some of those cuts up, but it would be rather rough.

[Rough was a substantial understatement.]

Yeah. I needed it. [Perry shrugs, sitting up and rolling his shoulders in an attempt to dispell some of the lingering pain. It felt better with the bite covered up. He nods at Crane. Stitching couldn't hurt.] May as well do it.

[Crane didn't particularly like the look of the cuts on Perry's face. He also didn't think Dawsey was particularly going to like what the result of Crane's quick fix would look like.] They're going to do the job, but they're not going to be very aesthetically appealing.

[Crane was getting the needle and thread he had even as he explained the situation.]

[Perry rolls his eyes and shrugs.] Hey, I'm not some teenage girl obsessed with my appearance, doc. And it's not like I haven't got scars already.

I suppose they'll only be around until the next time you die anyway.
