This is the worst thing. [Crane sounds young. And crackly. And sulky.] Why don't I get to be old? It's much better than being like this. I don't even know if my higher brain... [Pause. For a long second.] workings are working. I'm not leaving my room until it's over.

Also all the old people should stay away from all the not old people. They might have diseases. But I would still rather be with the old people.

[Warden filter]

You guys can still warden, right? Even without Howie? And even with your bodies like this?

[Private - Eames]

Where are you? Did the flood get you?

[Private - Capa]

The Admiral should have made us old. I hate this. [Crane's assuming that Capa's the same age as him. Because of the animal flood.]

[OOC: So, kid!Crane isn't operating on the same level as standard Crane. And also has a bit of barely suppressed anxiety about old people, particularly old women, stemming from his origin comic.]

You're younger then? Like I am?

I might. I don't know how Iago is. Or Dawsey. Or Arthas. Or the vampires.

Being like this is terrible. All my books are ruined.

Do you always do the same thing though? Is there a list of what to do?

I wish that inmates could see the warden filters. It's unfair that we don't get to know who brings up what.

I would tell you to sit in the sun, but the barge doesn't have a sun and the CES is dangerous when you're old.

All the cells start to go bad. Because of time. Everything wears out.

[This is a novel concept to him. Programs didn't wear out due to time, or age and have their bodies 'break down.' Corruption could occasionally happen--usually due to outside interference--but that was, at times, fixable.]

Being old sounds really bad. [I.e., incredibly unpleasant.]

I'm fine here. Back [in my day] on the Icarus, we would have nothing to do but sit for hours, waiting on something or other. This is nothing.

How are they ruined?

Sort... of.

I guess we could tell you more, but it's not really fair, if you've been murdered or something, to have it plastered all over the ship.

Then again, that happens anyway.

[She beams.]

You're cute.

[Which makes the 12 year-old brain giggle.]

How is this the worst when we've had that crazy nightmare one with the blood sacrificing? Or the one that made our fears come to life or, oh! You hated the hug flood.

It's not like we make germs. We might get sick easier, but it's you kids who spread them.

It's natural though. It happens to everyone.

Some aren't that old. Some aren't even over fifty.

I can't understand them, can I?

Everyone knows anyway, so you could just tell us.

Didn't that get boring? Wasn't there at least something to read?

That's not fair. I don't spread germs.

No, I'm not.

I wasn't here for the blood one. But I'm sure the hug one was worse.

Oh, right. Well, you'll be back to yourself soon enough, then you can.

I don't think that's quite the idea. I imagine it'd only make things more complicated when deciding what to do.

I imagine we could tell you the end results more often.

I hope so.

I want to hear the end results more often. You should make them do that.

[A pause.]

A User, like you are. [Which is probably unhelpful. Another pause.] Users create programs.
