doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Sure/Conern)

[Sounding irritated. And is so oblivious to the fact he's been gone for a while, but has noticed quite a few new posts. Even if Crane hasn't bothered to read them.]

It's amazing how much all of you can talk in one day. This is some kind of flood, I assume?

[Added later. Angry Crane is angry.]

Oh, good show, Admiral. I'll keep in mind that abrupt disappearances are now one of the many punishment options that you offer alongside floods, ports and zero. Bravo.

[Private - Eddie]

Are you in the infirmary? [That fear toxin was heavy stuff.]

[Private - Hayley]

I had to use that toxin for other purposes. It wasn't anything personal.

[Private - Eames]

We need to talk. [Added later.] Did you know that the Admiral was going to do that?

Have you determined how similar you are to your counterpart?

It's a hard thing to determine, considering that I haven't met him.

What, Nygma hasn't divulged that information?

You'll have to excuse me if I don't find Nygma the most reliable source of information. He could be telling the truth as far as he understands it, but that doesn't make his observations accurate.

[Fatigue creeps into his voice.]

I'm aware of that particular personality trait.

No cross-referencing with the others?

The others? You know about others? [Crane: fishing like a boss. He already knows, but he wants to see what Sionis knows.]

Well, yeah, I know about the others. Little hard to miss 'em when you get the pissy Gotham welcome wagon plus one.

Let me guess. You got a warm welcome that consisted of them insulting your character and making significant assumptions about past alleged activities that you may have done?

[A dry laugh.]

Something like that.

They call you Scarecrow?

They do. [Pause.] I've never liked those sort names. They tend to over simplify the issues at hand.

The mask is a psychological tool. Some people can't appreciate the obvious difference.

[He laughs again, with humor now.]

Oh, I understand, believe me.

But it's the issue of becoming the mask that they fear.
From: [identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com
Yes. As if it were ever that simple. [Pause.] You've experienced the same thing, perhaps? People so easily assume that the mask is the person behind it.
maskurbates: (Would I lie to you?)
From: [personal profile] maskurbates
Of course I have. In one way or another, we all wear masks. Some are just more obvious than others.

I'd agree to that. Of course, the benefit to masks is that you can always take them off. Invent a new one for yourself, if necessary.
