There is nothing more irritating than a lack of filters. As a general observation, wardens seem to assume that inmates are somehow breaking the rules every second private conversation. Instead of the reality of the situation, which is a large amount of endlessly banal conversations we tend to want to have without wardens analyzing every minute detail of what we say. I have no doubt that the warden population does the exact same thing.

And now, to the point. [Pause. SO PUBLIC.] Nygma, we need to talk.

I think it's a little like sitting a kid down in a chair when he's been a shit. Not everyone is going to go off and make trouble when they're allowed to leave a room, but you're gonna think twice about doing it if you know you're being watched.

I compared situations. [Shrug in his tone. And he almost says something else, but he doesn't want to undermine Eames even by accident.] If you want the adult version, you are an individual that's proven himself a resource for destructive materials on more than one occasion, therefore I feel increased supervision and limits of activity are a wise decision on Mr. Eames part.

[So he can see you complain about your filters in public before contacting the suspicious man that is possibly an accomplice that lives two doors down from you with Bruce Wayne in between so you can arrange a private meeting.

I'm not criticizing Eames's decisions. He has solid reasoning behind everything that he does. [Pause.] And I assure you, I'm not currently on a search for any destructive materials. There's no point.

[Crane, who was walking down to meet Eddie, sees Dawsey in the distance. The huge, hulking shape of Dawsey. He pauses. Then continues to slowly walk down the stairs, pretending that he hasn't seen Perry.]

[Perry just assumes that Crane hasn't seen him. The idea that Crane thinks Perry wants to kill him? Doesn't even cross his mind. He just wants to talk to the guy. So he moves a little faster and calls out:]
