doctor_j_crane: Crane looking neutral. (Distance)

Are there any other flood effects that are taking a while to wear off? [Have some pained breathing and a slight gagging sound.]

[Infirmary Filter]

I need a doctor. Now.

[OOC: Crane's costume (scarecrow) has worn off, but unfortunately it turns out all that straw that he kept on having to collect and put back inside himself equates to actual body parts, just like the damage to his costume in general is still there. So his insides are a bit jumbled. Feel free to find some bits around the barge if your pup isn't too busy putting out fires and whatnot.]

Now is not the time. [Horrified silence.] ...I think I can see a lump of bone on the floor.

There's absolutely nothing I can do to help you with that.

While you're still able to talk, you might as well give me an answer.

I'm afraid I don't remember. The flood, you know. [Totally looking at that piece of bone. Part of a rib, maybe?]

Much like you don't remember the carnival breach? [Thank god this isn't video.]

I have no idea what you're talking about. [Crane's just found his 'repaired' arm. And actually swears a bit at the sight of it.]

A lie rarely works twice. And doesn't work at all when I am the recipient. Shall we try for the truth?

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize that your concern was more important than the fact that I'm probably actively in the process of dying. It's exceptionally painful, in case you were wondering.

You should be used to the process by now. I've certainly become accustomed to being informed of your death.

[The sound of a door opening. He's one step away from paying you a visit, Jon.] Stop vying for time and give me an answer.

Back off, Nygma. [Crane can hear the sound of Eddie's door opening, but there's not a lot he can do about it. He's busy being doubled over in pain, and trying not to vomit.] I'll tell you later. [Vying for time? Not at all!]

If you value me as a partner, I suggest you tell me now. [Door closing. Steps.] And try not to sully my shoes. I can hear you gagging.

Has anyone told you that you have sociopathic tendencies? [Okay, sitting down at his desk now. He's not going to be able to go to the infirmary without falling over. It's a good thing about Sveta coming.]

You have, and I've returned the derogatory comment on numerous occasions. [Eddie's stride slows as he comes upon Jonathan's door. He hesitates for a mere moment, before pushing it open.] A whack job diagnosis isn't going to divert my intentions, unfortunately.

How unfortunate. [Crane said, still leaning heavily against his desk. Come to think of it, there was quite a lot of blood on the floor. Most of it was from the deep cuts on his arms, regardless of Rose's stitching, which had been helpful at the time but was now just rather disturbing to look at.] You really, really can't wait?

[Crane's busy staring at his very damaged arm, while trying not to freak out. It's pretty difficult not to give into the inherent urge to roll around on the floor while screaming and clutching at his arm in agony.] Well, you'll have to. [Crane said through gritted teeth.] It's nothing dangerous, anyway. They'll never even know.

[Eddie steps over a small puddle of blood, towards Crane. He's still evidently determined to get himself an explanatory answer.] If is nothing dangerous, you should have no qualms with explaining why and what you did with my item. [He says nonchalantly.]

[Crane was hardly about to implicate Rose in a crime, even if it was only to Eddie. He still wasn't sure what she might be planning.] Your item will be fine. [Crane managed a pained grin at his own admittedly not very clever joke.] I didn't damage it.

[Sveta opened the door and stepped inside, her eyes widening a bit.]

What in the world... [Frowning, she stepped towards Crane, setting her bag on the floor.]

Unless you're his warden, it's time for you to leave now. [She didn't even look at Eddie as she spoke to him. Sveta was not the most observant of folk, so she really didn't pick up on anything hostile between them.]

[Eddie only glances at Sveta for as long as it takes to observe that she is distracted. With a tight frown, he slides over to Jonathan and hooks an arm around his shoulders.]

A friend, actually. [Jonathan, he is very ready to cover your mouth if you try to deny that.] I wouldn't bother with bandages unless you want him to bleed out before reaching the infirmary.

[Well, that was uncomfortable in more ways than one. Crane swore he could feel Eddie's arm pressing against one of the tears in his skin along where the mask had touched his shoulders, but it probably wasn't intentional. Still, Crane was not one to let an opportunity slip by.]

You're hurting me! [Crane shouted, trying to move away from Eddie. It was in part actually being in pain and in part a deliberate ploy to get Sveta to intervene.]

I don't care. [It was a rare moment of sternness for the woman, but when people interfered with her patients, she tended to get a little upset. Especially when they cried out. She didn't care if he was faking or not.]

Go away. Now. [She dug around in her bag, pulling out a syringe.] I'm going to do what I can for you here, Doctor Crane...at least get you well enough to go to the infirmary. [She was honestly afraid he might just...fall apart if they tried to move him that far.]

[Eddie flinched sympathetically at the yell. There was blood building up beneath his arm, coating the material of his blazer a thick, dark, ruby red, and ploy or not, the rough contact had to have caused a significant amount of hurt.]

If I move, he'll start bleeding again. Surely you, as a medical doctor, can understand the benefit of pressure on a deep wound. [He shifts a bit, leaning down to mutter in Crane's ear. Quiet enough not to be heard by Sveta.] This is just putting you higher on the hook. Try not to hang yourself while you're up there.

I just went to see certain places on board. What I took won't affect you. [Crane hissed to Eddie, hopefully in a low enough voice that Sveta wouldn't be able to pick up on it. What he really wanted right now was to be injected with whatever was in that syringe as soon as possible. The closer he was to passing out, the better. From an emotional angle, anyway.] I would really like some drugs, preferably now.
