[It's pretty clear by the large amount of people in the background that Crane's currently sitting in the infirmary.]

Apparently, zombies exist and are fairly hungry. [Crane sounds absolutely terrible. As in worst sore throat ever. Important things got eaten by the zombies, bb.] Also, we seem to actually be on a magical barge.

[Pause]

Cue the candid camera moment. Your experiment is successful. I actually have gone so far over the other edge of things that I think this place might actually exist.

[Five seconds of slow clapping. Clap, clap, clap.]

My main question is why would the Admiral do this to us? What does he gain? Why is this happening? Why are we here? What are you wardens getting from this? Why not just leave us to rot after being dead?

[After putting that large amount of effort into that little rant, Crane bursts into a fit of some pretty serious coughing. After he finishes, he turns back to the camera, even raspier then before.]

Why do all of you people put up with this?

[Crane shrugged.] Just because it's a generalization doesn't mean it's wrong. Frankly, I don't think many wardens are here out a deep interest in helping others.

I think you couldn't know without getting to know everyone and a lot of what you're saying is based on assumption. [Her lips quirked up a bit.]

It's not an assumption, it's using a set sample to determine a trend. [Crane wasn't about to admit that he probably did need to do more research on such an issue.]

I doubt it. [Crane rubbed his face.] It seems like the people who go along with it and the people who don't have much the same result. The floods and ports don't spare many.

[Max gave something of a huff. It wasn't one you might here from an angry person, in fact it was almost jubilant.] "Okay, well... I brought your books." [This is where she got foggy. Not wanting to get TOO close to people, something habitual for her.] "Maybe you can ask one of the infirmary staff if you can spend the rest of your toll in bed in your room or something like we discussed earlier."

Thank you for the books. I will endevour to convince one of the infirmary staff to let me out. [Crane sounded resigned. He'd accepted being in the infirmary for a little longer.]

"You're welcome," [Max replied with something of a smile.] "Now I really gotta hit the road. Filter something to me if you need anything." [She eased off of the bed by a knee and straightened her shirt over her jeans.]
